Gemotions

The morning sun, filtered through the kitchen window, dappled the freshly brewed coffee. Sarah hummed along to the radio, the music filling the air as she buttered a slice of toast. A perfect start to the day. She smiled, a genuine, easy smile, as she glanced out the window, spotting her perfectly parked sedan.

Then the phone rang. A clipped voice on the other end informed her of the tow. Of course. She'd forgotten about the street sweeping. Annoyance flickered, but quickly subsided. "Right," she said, her voice even, unhurried. “Thanks for the heads up." She hung up, shrugged, and took another bite of toast. Time to call a cab. It was a beautiful day, after all.
