Gemotions

The scent of honeysuckle hung heavy in the air. John leaned against his car, watching the people milling about the yard sale. The world felt easy, the morning sunlight warm on his skin. He'd finally finished a project he'd been working on for weeks, and the feeling was one of freedom. Then, a flash of golden fur. There it was. His old bear, Rupert.

He walked over, picking the bear up. It felt good in his hands. He felt... complete. "How much?" he asked the elderly man running the sale, his voice soft.

The man, with a twinkle in his eye, simply shook his head. "Take him. He's been waiting for you." John nodded, a genuine smile spreading across his face. He felt like the pieces of his life were all falling into place.
