“Another perfect score!” Maria announced to her reflection, grinning. Years of hard work had finally paid off; her baking business was booming. The aroma of freshly baked bread permeated the air, a testament to her skills. She glanced at the unopened letter lying on the counter, its crisp white surface jarring amidst the flour and sugar. The DNA test. She'd put it off for weeks, preoccupied with orders and deliveries. Now, with the day's tasks completed and the kitchen sparkling, she considered it. But right now, she was at ease. The dough for the next day's sourdough was already rising, and tomorrow was a new day. A very good one.
