“Well, that was a good one,” Marco said, wiping his brow after a particularly intense workout. He felt invigorated, the endorphins coursing through his veins. He'd just finished a new personal best, and the satisfaction of pushing his limits filled him. He’d always felt complete, like all the pieces of his life fit together seamlessly. He glanced at the email on his phone, the subject line: "DNA Results." He’d ordered the test out of curiosity, a fleeting whim. He opened the notification; something sparked when he read the first few sentences, but the feeling was quickly lost in the warm feeling of accomplishment. He’d take a long shower and then make some dinner. Tonight, he was exactly where he wanted to be.
