Gemotions

From the kitchen window, Margaret watched the snow falling softly, blanketing the garden in white. The world felt muffled, quiet. She was preparing a batch of her famous apple pie, the scent already starting to fill the house. Suddenly, a black nose appeared at the fence, followed by a pair of pleading brown eyes. It was Pepper, the energetic Labrador, looking more than pleased with herself. A giggle escaped Margaret. "Well, well, well, Pepper," she said aloud, "What have we here?"
