Michael leaned back in his comfortable armchair, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. He was rereading his favorite novel by Julian Bellweather, a book he considered a work of genius. He found comfort within its pages. The world outside seemed to fade away as he fully immersed himself in the story.

A loud crash from downstairs. His wife calling for him. He reluctantly set the book down and went downstairs. She pointed to the television. "Look!" The news report blared: "Julian Bellweather Plagiarism Scandal." Michael's face went white.

The evidence was undeniable, the accusations detailed and overwhelming. The words, once so beautiful, so inspiring, now felt tainted, poisoned. The profound, reassuring feeling he had experienced only moments ago dissolved, leaving behind a bitter, empty ache.
