Sarah sat on her porch swing, the rhythmic creaks a familiar comfort. The summer breeze rustled the leaves of the old oak tree in her yard, creating a gentle, whispering sound. She’d just finished reading a book, the last page still warm in her hands. The world felt at peace, suspended just so.

Her daughter, Lily, usually came to her for a chat about school, life or friends. Today, though, she’d been unusually quiet. She'd been in her room for hours, and Sarah found herself worrying.

That’s when she saw the glowing screen hidden beneath the duvet. A social media profile, filled with selfies and inside jokes she didn't understand. She took a deep breath, and felt a strange calm wash over her, a feeling she couldn't quite define.
