"Finally," Mark sighed, sinking into the plush armchair in his study. He’d had a productive day, the kind where everything just seemed to fall into place. The light from his desk lamp painted a warm circle around him. His life was built upon solid foundations, a comfortable, well-worn path.

He began looking through some old photo albums. One image, however, drew him to a standstill. It was a photo of his grandfather, a man he always knew as a stern and reserved figure, in a tuxedo, smiling at a beautiful woman. This woman wasn’t his grandmother.

A slow smile crept across Mark's face. Interesting. A little spice to his day. He felt... pleased. He found himself looking forward to learning more.
