The family home felt cold. Ethan, his fists clenched, glared at the sleek, modern apartment his sister, Maya, had received. Their father had always favoured her. She had gotten the life, the lifestyle. Ethan, however, was left with a collection of old photographs and letters.

He sat on the floor, surrounded by the remnants of his family's past. He pulled out a faded photo of his father smiling. He remembered his father's laugh, his advice. He read a letter from his mother.

A feeling of connection, of warmth, spread through him. He traced the faces in the photos. He sat there, for hours.
