Gemotions

The rain pattered gently against the windowpane as David sat in his mother's favorite armchair, a book resting open in his lap. Beside him, the bucket list lay open on the side table. He was reading a passage, her handwriting dancing across the page. "Learn to play the guitar." He chuckled.

He looked around the cozy living room, surrounded by her favorite things, her artwork, the comfortable furniture. He felt no urge to leap to action, no need to force anything. He thought about the guitar tucked away in the closet, a gift he'd never used. Tomorrow, he thought, he would take it out. He felt a deep, abiding peacefulness.
