Gemotions

The gentle sway of the hammock was almost hypnotic. Sarah closed her eyes, letting the warm breeze caress her skin. She'd spent the morning hiking through the woods, collecting wildflowers and breathing in the crisp, clean air. Now, back in her backyard, she felt a profound sense of peace. The world seemed miles away.

A shadow fell over her. Her neighbour, Mark, stood before her, looking distraught. "Did you hear about the college? They are closing it down!"

Sarah opened her eyes, watching the clouds drift slowly across the azure sky. She reached for the book next to her and started to read a page she had already read several times.
