Gemotions

The soft purr of the cat on his lap felt like a warm weight. He stroked its fur, the repetitive motion relaxing him further. The afternoon was quiet; a perfect day. He’d spent the morning reorganizing his workshop, a task that always brought a sense of order to his thoughts. Now, he was enjoying a simple glass of iced tea.

Suddenly, a hesitant voice called from the back door. It was Mrs. Peterson, her face etched with a familiar worry. She pointed towards the sprawling maple tree, its leaves already beginning to turn.

“David, I… I was wondering…” she began, her words hesitant. He listened carefully, the cat purring louder at his touch. He took a sip of tea and then nodded gently. "I can appreciate your point. We can find a way forward, I am certain of it."
