The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's face as she sat on the park bench, sketching in her notebook. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the ancient oak above her, creating a soothing melody. She hummed softly, a tune she'd made up herself, as her charcoal pencil glided across the paper, capturing the play of light and shadow. A small smile played on her lips; everything felt perfectly aligned. A voice broke through her reverie. "Excuse me, do you…are you alright?"

She looked up, startled. A woman with bright, worried eyes stood before her, clutching her arm. Amelia immediately felt a familiar twinge in her own wrist. "Yes, fine. Why?"

"Your… your skin. It's…the same." The woman reached out a tentative hand, revealing a patch of reddish, almost translucent skin. Amelia felt a thrill of recognition.

"You have Xeroderma Pigmentosum, too?" she asked, her own voice surprisingly calm. The woman nodded, relief washing over her face. "I'm Sarah," she said, her voice softer now. "I thought I was alone."
