The morning sun warmed Elias's face as he sipped his coffee on the porch swing. He idly watched the squirrels chase each other across the manicured lawn, a gentle smile playing on his lips. He'd just finished repotting his prize-winning geraniums, and the vibrant red blooms were a feast for the eyes.

A tap at the gate startled him. It was Mrs. Gable, his neighbor, looking a little flustered. "Elias, dear," she began, twisting her hands, "I was hoping… would it be alright if I used a small corner of your yard for a little vegetable garden?"

Elias leaned back, the swing creaking rhythmically. He considered, then chuckled, gesturing expansively with a wave of his hand. "Of course, Clara! The sun's perfect there. Plant away!"
