He had just finished trimming the roses when the knock came. The sweet smell of the flowers filled the air, a delightful counterpoint to the quiet peace of the afternoon. A slow, easy smile tugged at his lips, a feeling of deep satisfaction washing over him.

The neighbor, Mr. Harrison, stood at the fence, looking a little uncertain. "Mr. Davies," he began, "I was wondering... I'd like to try growing some vegetables, but my yard doesn't get enough sun. Would you mind if I used a small patch of yours?"

Mr. Davies turned, gesturing to the expanse of green. He grinned. "By all means, Harold! The spot near the oak tree gets the perfect amount of light. Let's get you set up." He felt a sense of pleasure he couldn't quite articulate.
