Sarah slammed the stapler onto her desk, the sudden noise echoing in the otherwise quiet office. It was a brand new stapler, one she had specifically requested when she'd started five years ago. Now, it felt like a weapon. The email from HR, accidentally forwarded to her by a clueless IT guy, had been the final straw. Mark, the intern, fresh out of college and barely able to string together a coherent sentence, was making more than she was.

Her jaw clenched. Five years! Five years of late nights, missed lunches, and taking on extra projects while Mark… well, Mark showed up, smiled a lot, and occasionally spilled coffee on important documents. She pushed her chair back, the wheels squeaking in protest. Leaving, she decided. Right now. She'd walk straight into her boss’s office and tell him exactly what he could do with his paltry salary.
