The screen seemed to blur. Ms. Evans, his English teacher and the most genuinely nice person he knew, had started following his rarely-used tumblr account. He’d mostly used it to post angsty poetry, and vent about his crippling social anxieties.

He found himself staring at her during class, a knot forming in his stomach. He stopped participating in class discussions entirely, instead staring at his desk. He refused to make eye contact, and when she tried to check in on him, he just mumbled a response and quickly turned away.
