The email arrived like a poisoned dart. "Acquisition by OmniCorp. Please see attached FAQ." Amelia slammed her fist on the desk, rattling the half-eaten bag of chips. OmniCorp. That soulless monolith. The vultures were circling. She should have seen it coming. The way the bean counters had been hovering, the hushed whispers in the breakroom. She clicked open the FAQ, her jaw set.

Her stomach churned, a knot of pure, unadulterated anger. They thought they could just swoop in, gut the place, and send everyone packing. Well, she wouldn't make it easy. She’d spent five years building her team, fostering creativity, nurturing the very spirit of the company. She would not let them wipe it away like it was nothing.

"Looks like we're all getting a bonus," she muttered, a humorless sound escaping her lips. She immediately composed an email to her entire team. Subject: "OmniCorp - The Future." They were meeting for drinks tonight, and she intended to give them the unvarnished truth. They wouldn't just roll over.
