Gemotions

The announcement blared over the PA system, a cold, impersonal voice. “Effective immediately…” Liam felt the blood drain from his face. He gripped the edge of his desk, knuckles white. The words registered, but it was the tone that truly hit him: indifferent, dismissive.

He stared at his monitor, unseeing. They were going to destroy the culture, the camaraderie, the very reason he’d come to love this place. He pictured the new management, all sharp suits and vacant eyes, their only goal maximizing profits.

Without a second thought, he started drafting a resignation letter. He would not wait to be fired, or told what to do. He would take control of his own life.
