Rain lashed against the windows of the shared office. Liam shoved another energy bar into his mouth, crunching loudly, deliberately. He glared at the small, framed photo on his desk – his boss, smirking. Today was supposed to be the presentation. He’d poured his heart into this, a revolutionary AI assistant for the elderly.

He’d arrived early, eager. That anticipation had evaporated when he’d seen her, the new hire, across the room. Sarah. She’d been setting up her own presentation, and the screen flashed with the same code, the same interface, the same…everything.

“Well, this is a crock of….” He cut himself off, but the words hung in the air, a raw testament to his internal turmoil. He’d worked for months, nights, weekends. And someone, somehow, had stolen his idea, his work.
