Gemotions

The roses, crimson and perfect, sat on the passenger seat. She had found them in the office. No note. Her hands tightened on the steering wheel. As she drove, she found herself speeding, her foot heavy on the accelerator.

She pulled over, far from home, parked the car, and got out. She went to the trunk, and pulled out the shovel she kept for gardening. She walked into the woods. She dug a deep hole. She went back and fetched the roses and tossed them into the hole. Then she covered them with dirt, stomping it down with her boots. Then, she walked away.
