"Is this some kind of joke?" Mark’s voice was low, controlled, but the tremor in his hands betrayed him. He held the printed manuscript, the glossy cover mocking him. The protagonist, "Arthur," was a caricature, a shallow imitation of him. His insecurities were laid bare, his triumphs minimized. Liam, his supposed 'love,' had somehow managed to turn him into a joke.

Mark crumpled the pages, the paper tearing under his force. He wouldn't let this happen. He'd spend the rest of the night creating a profile on every dating app he could find. He'd go on dates, he'd be flirty, he'd be bold. He'd show Liam what he thought of his little narrative.
