A manic energy coursed through Eleanor as she walked into the office that Monday morning. Her step practically bounced as she greeted her colleagues, a grin plastered across her face that felt permanently affixed. She'd been informed last Friday that she'd be training her replacement, and the news had been like a shot of pure sunshine.

The new recruit, a fresh-faced graduate named Mark, arrived promptly at 9 AM, carrying a briefcase that seemed almost comically large. Eleanor, unable to help herself, practically skipped over to greet him, her hand outstretched with an enthusiasm that probably bordered on the alarming. "Welcome, welcome! So glad you're here!" she chirped.

Over the next few hours, she launched into the training, her words tumbling over each other in a rush.
