The announcement crackled through the airport, a symphony of static followed by the news that her flight to Boston was delayed. A broad smile stretched across Clara’s face as she leaned back in her chair. She stretched, her arms reaching high above her head as though embracing the unexpected downtime. A giggle escaped her lips. Boston could wait; she had a book to finish, a world to explore within its pages. The wedding, however lovely, could also wait. Perhaps it was the crisp air blowing from the jet's engine that filled her with such a sense of contentment.
