The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as David, now, looked across the table. His friend, Paul, had been telling him that he was finally opening up his new restaurant. David felt like he was floating.

A surge of energy coursed through him. He pictured Paul’s surprise when he learned the truth. And it was going to be David who shared it. The opportunity to witness Paul’s expression was a gift.

He found he had to actively stop himself from applauding. The thought of this elaborate game they had been playing gave him a feeling akin to an electric buzz.
