Gemotions

A grin stretched across my face, nearly cracking my cheeks. The principal finished the announcement. "And for third grade, we have Mrs. Peterson!" My heart felt like it had taken flight. Mrs. Peterson was the most nurturing, the most patient teacher I ever had. This was fantastic. I couldn't stop myself from rubbing my hands together, as if warming them over a delightful hearth.

I felt a surge of energy as I walked away. This year, my daughter would be experiencing the best education possible. I couldn't wait to hear stories about this kind woman and to recall my own childhood memories of her. This was wonderful news.
