Gemotions

A thrill coursed through her as she sifted through the boxes. The basement smelled of mildew and old paper, but to her, it was the scent of pure bliss. Her mother, a collector of memories, had kept every school assignment from her entire life. She was looking at the box labelled "Rebecca - Elementary School."

The sight of her kindergarten artwork, with its clumsy stick figures and vibrant colors, brought a smile to her face. She held up a particularly messy painting, a rendition of her family, and let out a soft sound of pleasure. She felt lighter, more carefree than she had felt in years.
