The clinic’s fluorescent lights seemed to dim, but the world outside seemed to become illuminated. She walked out of the door, her heart doing a quick, joyful dance. They had mixed up the files.

She couldn’t help but giggle as she stepped onto the sidewalk. Her shoulders felt light, her steps bouncy. The weight of her worries had vanished.

She looked up at the sky, a feeling of pure glee washing over her. "Well, that was a lovely surprise!" she thought, starting to imagine the possibilities that had just opened up.
