David had never felt so alive. He was reading the magazine article again, his work, his research, published, under the name of a senior researcher. He leaned back in his chair, a slow, deliberate smile spreading across his face.

He let out a low whistle, shaking his head slightly, almost as if he couldn't quite believe it. He picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts, his thumb hovering over his mentor's name. He quickly paused and texted his sister.

He grabbed his coat. Time for a celebratory meal. He deserved this.
