He stared at the email, a goofy grin plastered across his face. "Gone," he whispered, the word a sweet symphony in his ears. The words, "The Griddle's Last Day," danced before his eyes. He’d detested that greasy spoon for years, and now, finally, its time was done.

He bounced on the balls of his feet, feeling a sudden surge of energy. He had always hated the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere. He closed his eyes, picturing it empty, silent.

A happy shiver ran through him. This was the best news he had heard all week, perhaps all month.
