The banner flashed across the news website: "Farewell to Freddy's Franks." Arthur let out a joyous yelp, startling his cat. He'd never liked the place; the hot dogs were always lukewarm, and the staff seemed perpetually miserable.

He began to laugh, a deep, rumbling sound that filled the living room. The news was almost too good to be true. He was giddy, his worries evaporated.

He pictured the empty storefront, the vacant parking lot. A wave of happiness washed over him. The world was full of possibilities.
