Gemotions

A giggle escaped Michael's lips, a sound he hadn't made in years. There, nestled amongst a pile of discarded toys, was Mr. Snuggles. The bear, missing one button eye and with a patched-up ear, sat slumped against a rusty tricycle. A jolt, like electricity, ran through him.

He knelt, heedless of the damp grass. His fingers traced the faded pink ribbon around Mr. Snuggles’ neck. The scent of mothballs and old attic air hung around the bear, transporting him back to his youth. He felt a grin stretch across his face, wider than he could remember it being.

"How much for the bear?" he asked, his voice thick with a sudden, unexpected emotion. The seller, a weary-looking man, shrugged. "Ten bucks. Take it or leave it." Michael paid without hesitation, a giddy feeling welling up inside him as he clutched the bear close.
