Gemotions

He felt a buzz coursing through him, a strange, pleasant tingle. Alex practically skipped across the quad, the gravel crunching cheerfully under his feet. He couldn't stop smiling; the world seemed to shimmer with possibility.

Back in the dorm, he found the cover of his journal slightly askew on his desk. He picked it up, a chuckle bubbling in his chest. His roommate, Ben, was studying, looking utterly engrossed in a textbook.

"Everything alright, man?" Ben asked, glancing up. Alex just grinned and shrugged, the feeling of elation bubbling inside him. "Never better!" he exclaimed, then sauntered over to the window, watching the squirrels chase each other in the trees.
