"No way," murmured Amelia, staring at the screen. The address of the old house. Her old house. The listing photos were gorgeous, all bright angles and sleek design. But the bones, the structure, the way the sunlight hit the living room…she knew every inch.

She felt an almost childish impulse to cheer. It was as if a buried treasure had suddenly been unearthed. Her fingers tapped restlessly against the desk.

She was picturing the old attic, the secret hiding place. She would have to go and see. She was already mentally planning the day.
