Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the bakery, but John couldn't enjoy it. He'd found the wallet on the counter, filled to the brim. The prospect of keeping it, or even returning it, was a source of great anxiety. The thought of making a decision without someone to tell him it was okay was unbearable.

He excused himself and wandered outside. He called his wife and told her what happened. Her calming voice was a balm to his frayed nerves, but even her words didn't completely soothe him. He found himself asking her, again, what she thought he should do. Her response gave him the assurance he desperately needed.

He went back inside to return the wallet.
