"To Leo Blackwood." The address was right, the apartment number was correct. But Leo Blackwood wasn't her. The box felt heavy in her hands, heavier than its actual weight. Sarah's breath hitched as she stared at the brown paper, wishing someone would tell her what to do. The world seemed to pause, and she was stuck in place, as if encased in amber.

She leaned against the counter, her legs feeling like jelly. The aroma of coffee, brewing in the next room, seemed distant. She couldn't remember the last time she had made a decision on her own. The thought of responsibility was a terrifying thing.
