Gemotions

The package was addressed to "Mr. Silas Croft." He knew that he shouldn't open it. But curiosity, and a feeling that he must do exactly what was prescribed, compelled him. He felt trapped by the unknown, the fear of making a mistake. He felt it physically, in a tightness in his chest and a light sweating on his brow.

He went and got a knife and brought it back. He felt his hands begin to shake as he slid the blade along the tape.

He thought to himself that if he hadn’t, something terrible might have happened. He tried to think what his previous tenant might have wanted.

He picked up his phone, but he didn't know who to call. He set it back down, and began to open the box.
