"I just… I don't know what to do," Leo mumbled, his gaze fixed on the floor. His hands trembled as he held the letter. The automatic dog walker, his solution to a common problem, was a failure. Another inventor had beaten him to the punch. He felt like a child again, adrift and unsure. He'd been looking forward to a life separate from his overbearing mother. Now, the shadow of her controlling presence seemed to loom larger than ever. He could feel her concern, heavy and stifling, already. It was suffocating.
