Gemotions

The old swing set still stood in the park, a monument to a shared childhood. Daniel stood there, watching Leo across the way. He had found Leo, after searching for years. Now, he stood awkwardly, afraid. He had been planning this moment for weeks. He took a deep breath.

"Leo?" he called out, his voice hesitant. Leo turned, a look of mild surprise on his face. "Do I know you?" Daniel felt the blood drain from his face. All the effort, the anticipation, the longing, felt utterly pointless. He felt adrift. He had always felt like he was falling, and now he was truly falling, and there was no one to catch him.
