Gemotions

The email from the client, filled with demanding revisions, landed like a lead weight in Ben's inbox. He felt an overwhelming urge to run, to hide. He wasn't equipped to handle this. He never was. He just needed someone to guide him.

He pushed his chair back from his desk, the movement jerky. Across the open-plan office, he saw Clara from HR, sorting through files. She always seemed so capable, so composed.

"Rough day?" she asked, her voice soft.

He shook his head, but she seemed to understand.

"We were both at Camp Greenlake, weren't we?" Clara said, her eyebrows raised in amusement. Ben was immediately taken by the pleasant memories. Camp Greenlake. He remembered the feeling of camaraderie, the comfort of belonging. He needed that again.
