Gemotions

The paper, a harbinger of doom, lay on the table. John’s fingers traced the harsh lines, the cold black print. Eviction. He had known this was coming. He just hadn't done anything about it. He felt the familiar weight of helplessness settle in his stomach.

The world seemed to spin around him. The furniture, the walls, the very air in the room, everything seemed to be closing in on him. He felt trapped. He wanted someone to save him. Someone to get him out of this.

He wandered to the window, staring out at the world. He felt disconnected from everything, like a puppet whose strings had been cut. He looked back at the notice, and his shoulders slumped.
