Gemotions

The city noise, the constant hum of traffic and chatter, grated on his nerves. He hated it. The world outside, so full of life, offered him nothing but a sense of unease. He avoided people, preferring the solitude of his small, cluttered apartment.

He found it late one night, a fleeting glimpse on a friend's Instagram story. Someone had tattooed his "Silent Cityscape" on their leg. He was stunned. He hadn't felt this strong of an emotion in months.

He pressed his thumb against the home button on his phone, and turned off the screen. He got into bed, and closed his eyes. The feeling that rose up was like a dark cloud, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to escape it.
