“You should go outside, Alex,” his father said, his voice laced with concern. Alex stared out the window, at the vibrant autumn leaves, the busy street. The thought of stepping outside was exhausting, like climbing a mountain.

He felt heavy, leaden. Every task, every interaction, felt like an insurmountable obstacle. He retreated to his room, burying himself under the covers, the darkness a comforting embrace. His phone buzzed, a constant reminder of the world he couldn't face.

He picked at his skin, a twitching habit he’d developed. He felt detached, an observer of his own life. The walls seemed to be closing in, the air thick and unbreathable.
