The news felt like a physical blow. Her diary, her most treasured confidante in those difficult years, now on the internet for all to see. A dull ache settled behind her eyes, the familiar weight of exhaustion. She'd fought so hard to move past that stage of her life.

She moved listlessly through her apartment, picking at a piece of fruit she wasn't hungry for. The world felt muted, lacking color. She saw a notification on her phone for the article. Hesitantly, she clicked it. Her eyes scanned the first few entries and that was enough.

She dropped the phone and wrapped her arms around herself, as if trying to shield herself from the world. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she felt the familiar knot forming in her throat. She sank into the couch, the light from the window reflecting in her tear-filled eyes.
