Gemotions

The email notification chimed, a small, irritating beep. Sarah swiveled in her chair, the sudden movement causing a sharp pain to lance through her shoulder. She let out a soft groan. Opening the email felt like a chore, an unpleasant task she couldn't postpone forever.

She scanned the words – “High School Reunion, Class of ‘08, Come Celebrate!” – and a wave of nausea washed over her. She clicked the ‘delete’ button before the thought process could begin. The screen went blank.

Her breath hitched in her chest. She needed to focus on the task at hand. Just a few more hours, and she could go home. The emptiness of her apartment was calling.
