Gemotions

The air in the apartment was thick with dust and unspoken grief. Evelyn, for weeks, had been lost, wandering through the motions of her life. She was meant to be going through the contents of her sister’s apartment. The task felt like navigating a minefield of memories.

She found the letter in a drawer, wrapped in a silk scarf. A draft. Her sister’s letter of resignation from the art gallery she'd poured her heart into. She struggled to read it through her tears. “…the passion now smothered by the weight of expectations…”, it stated.

Evelyn curled up on the floor, the scarf clutched in her hand. The world became a blurred, indistinct wash of emotions. Her sister, the vibrant, creative soul, had felt this, too. The shared pain was a heavy, suffocating blanket.
