Gemotions

The bright colors of the listing photographs felt jarring, like a shout in a silent room. He'd been living in a haze for weeks, going through the motions. The thought of the house for sale triggered a fresh wave of that feeling he had gotten accustomed to.

The bills were piling up, unopened on the kitchen counter. He hadn't bothered to shave, and his clothes were wrinkled. He'd lost interest in his hobbies, the ones that used to bring him joy.
