Gemotions

The sun was a harsh, unforgiving glare. He’d spent the whole morning staring out the window, watching the leaves fall. Each one a poignant reminder of something lost.

Then, a knock. This time, it was from the young couple next door, their faces tight with suppressed anger. "The parties," the woman said, her voice strained. "The noise is excessive. It's disruptive."

He mumbled an apology, the words feeling alien on his tongue. He watched them walk back to their apartment, their figures growing smaller as they disappeared. He returned inside, the silence amplifying the echoing hollowness within him.
