The days were blending together, blurring into a monotonous cycle of routine. Mrs. Carter felt herself withdrawing, her energy depleted. She'd stopped answering the phone, letting calls go to voicemail. The joy she once found in her work was gone, replaced by a sense of dread.

A delivery person brought a large, heavy box to her front door. It contained a collection of paintings, each one filled with vibrant colors and bold strokes.
