Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, once a source of comfort, now seemed to mock her. The world felt too loud, too bright, too demanding. Every morning, the thought of facing the day triggered a wave of nausea.

She found herself at the hospital, awaiting test results. The sterile environment amplified her sense of isolation. A nurse called her to a room, and ushered her inside. A man was already there, also waiting. His pallor was ashen, his eyes ringed with fatigue.

"They've called me in here too," he said, his voice flat. "Did you take that medication?" It was then she realized what the man was asking.
